Limited Warranty Policy

Products manufactured by AML are warranted against defects in workmanship and materials, provided the Product remains unmodified and is operated under normal and proper conditions. The term of warranty varies by product. Please refer to the individual product specification sheets. The sole obligation of AML for defective hardware Products is limited to repair or replacement (at AML's option) on a "return to factory" basis with prior AML authorization. Shipment to AML will be at Buyer's expense. No charge will be made to Buyer for repair or replacement parts during the warranty period. Products manufactured by other than AML - AML agrees to transfer to Buyer any and all transferable warranties AML receives from the manufacturer of products sold to Buyer. No other warranty is made regarding products manufactured by other than AML. The aforementioned provisions do not extend the original warranty period of any Product that had either been repaired or rep laced by AML. The above warranty shall not apply to any Product which has been repaired or altered, except by AML; (i) which has not been maintained in accordance with any operating or handling instructions supplied by AML, or (ii) which has been subject to unusual physical or electrical stress, misuse, abuse, negligence or accident. EXCEPT FOR THE WARRANTY OF TITLE AND THE EXPRESS WARRANTIES STATED ABOVE, AML DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES ON PRODUCTS FURNISHED HEREUNDER INCLUDING ALL IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR USE. The stated expressed warranties are in lieu of all obligations or liabilities on the part of AML for damages, including but not limited to, special indirect or consequential damages arising out of or in connection with the use or performance of the Product or service. AML's liability for damages to Buyer or others resulting from the use of any Product or service furnished hereunder shall in no way exceed the purchase price of said Product or the fair market value of said service. No product will be accepted for warranty return without a Return Authorization from Seller. The RMA number, provided by Seller, must be clearly marked on the outside of the shipping container.

Product Return Policy

Products sold by AML may be returned for full refund (less shipment charges) under the following conditions:

  • The returned unit(s) has been purchased within the previous 30 days.

  • A valid RMA Number can be obtained by calling RMA Support at 1-877-842-3990 or click here. The RMA number must be displayed on the outside of the package.

  • The unit(s) are securely packaged and returned in original, complete and undamaged packaging with all parts, cabling and documentation included in "like new" condition.

  • The unit(s) is in "like new" condition and requires no refurbishment.

  • Any PSC or Metrologic laser scanners are returned in factory-provided containers and no shipping label is attached to the containers.

Failure to adhere to the above conditions may result in restocking charges up to the total of the original invoice.

Products returned for credit (with a valid RMA) after the 30-day period, will be charged a 20% restocking fee.  Additional, fees will be assessed for any required refurbishment, replacement or repackaging.  If AML determines the cost of any refurbishment, replacement and/or repackaging exceeds the cost of the unit, the unit will be returned to the customer with no credit issued.

AML will not accept, under any circumstance, units for refund after 60-days of the original invoice date.

Returning Products for Warranty Service

To make a claim under this limited warranty, call our Repair Department at 877-842-3990 during business hours (8:30 AM - 5:00 PM Central) to obtain a Returned Materials Authorization number (RMA). Return the product, shipping prepaid, with the RMA number marked on the top of the box, to:

Failure to obtain an RMA number may result in the refusal of your shipment, a processing fee, and/or a delay in processing your return. AML will repair or replace (at American Microsystems' discretion) warranted products and return it via ground service within the continental United States. Shipping upgrades are to be paid by the customer.
